Gretna Providers

William Weeks, M.D.

William WeeksI would like to take this opportunity to tell you about myself, my philosophy of medicine and my professional credentials. I have wanted to be a doctor since childhood. I remember growing up enjoying math and science classes and watching my father have a satisfying career in medicine and helping people. My desire grew stronger as I grew older and I now find myself privileged and fulfilled in my mission in life.

My desire is to be an advisor and partner in your healthcare and to provide high quality, caring, listening healthcare for you and your family. I have been in practice since 1984 in the same locations that were started by my father in 1959.

I have enjoyed my activity in the Gretna community as a member and past board member of the Gretna Optimists and Gretna Chamber of Commerce. We sponsor youth sports teams and support other philanthropic causes in the community.

I promise to remain up-to-date in the latest medical advances through continuing medical education. I promise to take our relationship personally, professionally and seriously. I consider it an honor to be your physician.

Mark Woodruff, M.D.

Mark WoodruffI decided to be a doctor as a teenager. I loved the combination of science and helping people. I still enjoys the detective work or diagnosis, almost as much as our relationships with patients. Over time, we get to know our patients and enjoy sharing their lives with them. We actually have many families where there generations all come to us for healthcare, and some with four generations.

I see myself as your healthcare advisor. My goal is to help you make the best choices about your healthcare by giving you accurate and timely information in a clear, understandable way. A large part of my job is to educate you, and I encourage my patients to learn all they can from other sources, including the internet. I have also chosen to give of myself as an ordained minister. It’s another aspect of caring for the whole person.

I promise to answer your questions to the best of my ability, to explain those answers in terms that make sense to you and address your concerns in a timely manner. We will make more time available in the future visits if we are unable to address all your issues at a specific appointment. We value you as a person, a patient and a neighbor. I consider it an honor to be your physician.

Lynn Kocian PA-C

Lynn KocianMy education began in the United States Air Force. l was a Chinese Linguist in USAF Military Intelligence. It was in the Air Force that I discovered the Physician Assistant, as they were the primary healthcare providers for the military. After 4 years of military service, I decided to change careers and returned to Nebraska to pursue my own career as a PA.

I completed my master’s in Medicine/Physician Assistant Studies at UNMC in 1997. I have practiced Family Medicine in Gretna, Nebraska, ever since and have Ioved every minute. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed the dimensions family practice has to offer – Pediatrics and Geriatrics. My focus is preventive medicine and wellness. I have a special interest in Adolescent Medicine, hormone imbalance and holistic therapies. I believe treating the whole person is the best way to achieve optimal health.

Early in my career, I organized health fairs to bring awareness to heart disease prevention and outlined healthy eating guidelines, called “Lynn’s Lites” to help my patients make better lifestyles and dietary changes. I also belong to the Citizens Committee to Provide a Safe and Healthy Environment for the Youth of Gretna. This allows me to communicate high risk behaviors amongst our youth, such as STD, drug and alcohol trends, so that we may help our kids make better, healthier choices and bridge the communication gap between parents and children through awareness.

For these efforts, I was humbly honored with the Physician Assistant of the Year award in 2003.

I reside in Gretna with my husband, Jay and our two children, Carter and Raigan. When I am not playing chauffer, I enjoy singing in our church band, High Spirit.

I thank my patients and the community of Gretna for allowing me fifteen wonderful years of practice here and look forward to serving you for many more!

Kathy Archer APRN

KathyI am Kathy Archer, a nurse practitioner, and I will be working full-time in the Gretna clinic. I started my healthcare as a nurse working in pediatrics and then moving into intensive care. I decided to further my education in order to be able to care for people in a primary healthcare setting. I specialize in family medicine because I love to take care of people of all ages. Preventative healthcare is an area to which I devote much time and energy. I believe it is my responsibility to provide these services to the community in order to keep everyone as healthy as possible. I will spend as much time as it requires to teach my patients about their health and the skills they need in order to maintain optimal functioning. I am originally from South Sioux City, Nebraska. I received my BS in nursing from UNMC in 1994 as well as my master’s in nursing in 1998.

I have been working in Family Medicine since getting my nurse practitioner certification. Previously I worked in Thornton, Colorado and Council Bluffs, Iowa.

I am married to Jeremy and have three very energetic boys. I enjoy sports, scrapbooking and especially spending time with my family.

I am very excited to be part of Gretna Family Health and look forward to serving you and your family for many years to come.
